WeEKLY TRACK WORKOUTS

We're holding weekly track workouts this fall on Wednesday evenings through Nov 17. They will be at Hurrell Field in Glen Ridge and start at 6:30 pm. However, you should try to arrive by 6:15 pm to complete an easy 10 minute jog to warm up prior to the workout.

Note: Runners are encouraged to bring a headlamp or light as it will be dark now for the workout and there is very limited lighting on the track.

These workouts are offered as a free benefit to all ERC members! Non-members are welcome to attend one free session prior to joining the club. They will be geared towards running a fast time at the Ashenfelter 8K on Thanksgiving Day but will also help you prepare for races at all distances throughout the fall racing season.

Paul Kartanowicz (Coach PK) will be back as our coach and will design the workouts to help keep you motivated and ready to race again whether you’re new to running or a seasoned veteran. Coach PK is a certified USATF Level II endurance coach, one of the top coaches in the area and the current head track and field coach at Glen Ridge High School.

You should plan to wear a digital watch for the workouts so you can keep track of your splits (GPS watch is preferred). You should know your current / goal pace for the 5K and for other distances to help you determine the best pace for your workouts. Coach PK suggests using the free McMillan running calculator at www.mcmillanrunning.com to ensure you are running at the correct pace for each workout.

Details of each workout will be posted on Facebook each week so you can complete them at your own convenience any time during the week if you are unable to attend the workout in person or would prefer to do them on your own.
