Wednesday NIGHT TRACK WORKOUTS
Track workouts will be held at Hurrell field in Glen Ridge on Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm starting on April 17 and continuing for 10 weeks leading up to the Lager Run 5K on Sunday, June 3rd.
Workouts will be coached by our very own Paul Kartanowicz (Coach PK) who is a certified USATF coach and one of the top coaches in the area. He’s currently the Head Track & Field Coach at Glen Ridge High School and Head Cross Country Coach at Harrison High School.
Whether you’re new to running or a seasoned veteran, Coach PK will design the workouts to get you ready for a PR on June 23 or he can adjust the workouts for other distances or goals.
Coach PK recommends you wear a digital watch (doesn’t have to be a GPS) so you can keep track of your splits and to know your current 5K time, your goal for the Lager Run and your current half marathon time to help him determine the best pace for your workouts.
He suggests using the free McMillan running calculator at www.mcmillanrunning.com to ensure you are running at the correct pace for each workout.
These sessions are free to all ERC members! Non-members are also welcome to attend and can attend one session for free prior to joining the club.
Please plan to arrive early to complete a proper warm up jog. Coach PK will introduce dynamic stretches and running drills followed by track workouts geared to all ability levels.
Bathrooms will be available for use.
