The club shares a close relationship with Fleet Feet Montclair (603 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair) supporting the local running community and promoting good health and fitness. SPECIAL Events:
Eagle Rock 9/11 Memorial Run / Walk (Sun, Sep 7 @ 7:15 am): Supported group run in partnership with the Essex Running Club leaving from Fleet Feet at 7:15 am and going up Snake Hill to the 9/11 Memorial in Eagle Rock Reservation that overlooks NYC. The 4.7 mile route will be marked with flags and there will be some light refreshments back at the store after the run.
Fall Supported Long Run Series (Sun, Sep 14, Sep 28 & Oct 12 @ 7:00am): Would you like to do your long training runs with some extra camaraderie and without lugging around all your supplies? Then join us for our Fall Supported Long Runs. Nutrition products will be on the course and local Physical Therapists will be back at the store to work out the post-run bumps and bruises. We will set up two aid stations on the flagged course (one at Fleet Feet Montclair and one at Anderson Park) stocked with hydration, nutrition and don't forget Suzy P's bonus table. This is perfect for anyone needing to get in their long training runs. On the day of the run, you will need to check in with Fleet Feet Montclair staff at the start. The five mile and seven mile marked courses can be mixed and matched to hit your training needs. They have a mix of flatlands and rolling hills. The run on 9/14 is a special Speed Shoe Rodeo giving you a chance to run in the most cutting-edge performance models from ASICS, Brooks, New Balance, and Saucony. Fall 5K & 8K Training Program Presented by New Balance (Sat, Sep 27 - Wed, Dec 3): Join our iconic, fun, unintimidating program that has been a staple of Fleet Feet Montclair since 2008. This proven program has helped 5000+ athletes across the finish line of their goal race. We are thrilled to have the support and expertise of New Balance taking this program to the next level! The No Boundaries group will meet twice a week for 8 weeks. All participants will be provided with a weekly training plan and a support team that will help you walk, walk-run, or run across the finish line! Info meeting at the store on Wed, Sep 24 at 6:30pm. Weekly Group Runs:
Thursday Night Fun Run / Walk: Meet up at Fleet Feet at 6pm. Friendly social group for walkers or runners and a great way to meet new friends. Bring family, friends, co-workers or come alone. All paces are welcome and you can run or walk as little or as much mileage as you want. Most people start out on a 3 mile route down Midland Ave with a loop around Edgemont Park but you can turn around sooner if you want a shorter walk / run. Some people also extend the run up to 6 miles with a second loop on North Mountain, Watching and Midland Ave. Route maps are available here.
Sunday Morning Group Run: Meet up at Fleet Feet at 7am. All paces and distances welcome. Popular with people training for longer distance events especially during the summer and fall. Various distances and paces through the streets of Montclair to Edgemont Park, Anderson Park and Brookdale Park including popular routes of 3, 5, 7 and 8.5 miles. Route maps are available on the Running Routes page on the ERC web site. These meet-ups are not usually guided by Fleet Feet staff but there are Supported Long Runs on some Sunday mornings in the spring, summer and fall with aid stations at Fleet Feet and Anderson Park.
